Francesca DI BONITO

ABOUT

Francesca DI BONITO lives and works in Paris since 2004. Mixing her Classic arts studies and her experience as a photojournalist, she creates a work of art both hybrid and multifaceted. Photographer and plastic artist, she questions societal dynamics at the core of contemporary issues.

Using the photographic medium as a narrative substance around which evolve and emerge her visual accounts. The visual part then integrates, through a process of crossing and blending, other aspects such as performance, installation, and video.

Francesca DI BONITO borrows the tools, the major themes, and the news aspects of the media repertoire, therefore operating a metamorphosis of information. Artifacts and pretenses, incongruous convergence of the opposites, her narratives, borderline between reality and fiction, infuse social and political issues within life cycles.

The body and the figurative shapes then become material for a plastic and intimate storytelling, areas of interchange and communication challenging social and identity issues.
